Hello! My name is Peter Figasinski. I'm a web & userface designer based out of Vancouver (and for those of you locally - specifically North Delta). I also dabble in some web development, illustration, and a few other related fields. I've been freelancing for about a decade now (yikes! I must be old).

I'm passionate about design that's both beautiful, but more importantly functional and usable. I'm a big proponent of web standards and love using the latest technologies (but only where appropriate). I've build websites end to end (planning, design, HTML/CSS coding, CMS integration, copy writing/editing, and launch) or have been part of a team involved in the building of a website.

My interests

Outside of design, I love playing tennis. I've been playing since high school and currently I play some local Vancouver tournaments with mixed results. :) When I'm not playing tennis my wife and I are renovating our house (it's a never ending project) or hanging out by the beach with our dog.

Way back when...

I though I'd give you a little background of how I ended up here in beautiful British Columbia. I was originally born in Poland. At the age of eight my parents with my sister and I in tow left Poland in search of a better life. We ended up Austria where we stayed a couple of years until we travelled to our final destination - Canada. Initially we landed in the hot or cold (you have to pick one - it was never a mix) and mosquito-ridden Winnipeg. In 1990 after a few years of freezing / thawing out we decided to move to Vancouver. I haven't left here since. I love it! Check out the snazzy map I created below to show my journey :)

@hmulholland really, really like design! ONLY feedback: not sure about the yellow dot in front of titles - nicer left alignment without it? 7:43 AM Feb 20th     [ follow me on Twitter ]
